Shakespeare of all admired this company gives.
Today a year ago - ish, a theatre company was born from the ashes of no theatre company. From the blood sweat and tears of two wild actresses, namely your brilliantly humble authors.
Our babe, mewling and puking, has brought manifold joys. From giving us a platform to exhibit theatrical fanaticism, a chance to connect with incredible people, and the opportunity to labour through trials and errors whilst studying Shakespeare.
When we look back at our year, we cannot help but laugh at our madness. And happily scheme for the madness forthcoming.
Many years more we hope to have the joy of learning about and exhibiting pieces of theatrical genius.
This is the great undertaking of the Stick and Stone Theatre Co.
And now a message from the founders (still us) themselves :
This year taught me that success is found in the changes you make in peoples lives. I remember looking at everyone's faces when we preformed, scared cold, but the sharing of the laughter the joy, the sorrow pushed me onward. For a moment we were in some wood eith lovers, we were sword fighting to the death . We were just enjoying being human. This I all wrote heartily in another blog, and it is a privilege to have a space to share continuously with you our passion.
Ruth once told me that our friendship was unnecessary, to which I took great offense, but then I heard the quote she was thinking of, and I now I feel the same way about theatre.
"Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy or art... It has no survival value ; rather it is one of those things that add value to survival."
-C. S Lewis
And so through our friendship, which is as uneccesary as our art, we added value to our lives, and enjoyed the crazy company of others as God enjoys us.

I am heartily thankful to this our babe, Stick and Stone theatre co. In all its madness and melodramatic morbidity (in the archaic sense of the word), the creation and maintenance of which may only be attributed to the great kindness of God, the great kindness of all involved and the most unrivalled freedom of a somewhat chaotic city. How much have I learn about countless things that I had not considered existent, let alone important. The short and the long is; it is most pleasing and heart worming, and in every way adorable (again in the older sense of the word) to have part in a minute institution, whose sole purpose of existence is noisily displaying the great genius of language and art!

Here's to one year-ish of Stick and Stone Theatre Co. And many more to come!
Have a blessed Christmas!
